Symbiotics, the leading market access platform for impact investing, has arranged a USD 20.25 million investment for Nam A Bank. The first disbursement of USD 13.25 million took place in January 2025 and was topped up with USD 7 million from the BII Green Basket Bond, a partnership with the UK’s development finance institution and impact investor in June this year.
Through this green facility, Nam A Bank reinforces its collaboration with local enterprises to advance the development of clean transportation in Vietnam, with financing focused on electric vehicles.
“We are delighted to partner with Nam A Bank, a pioneer in green and SME lending in Vietnam. This financing, dedicated to supporting green projects and MSME development, underscores Symbiotics commitment to tackling climate change while promoting a just transition for vulnerable communities. We look forward to contributing to the growth of green and sustainable lending in the country.”, said Eugene Tan, Regional Manager for East Asia at Symbiotics Investments.
“The successful mobilization of funding from international funds, particularly through this collaboration with Symbiotics, marks a positive step forward in Nam A Bank’s financial strategy. It lays a strong foundation for promoting humanistic values, social responsibility, and comprehensive development. This partnership serves as a clear testament to the long-term commitment of both parties in creating positive and sustainable impacts for society and future generations. It also represents a concrete step toward realizing Nam A Bank’s vision of balanced development across economic, environmental, and social dimensions—an aspiration the Bank has consistently pursued.”, stated Vo Hoang Hai, Deputy General Director at Nam A Bank.
