Learning Journey

After a successful first trip in late 2024, Symbiotics Capacity Building is proud to officially launch the Learning Journey, an immersive program designed to bring financial professionals directly to the heart of financial inclusion.

Following the belief that true understanding comes from experience, Learning Journeys take participants beyond boardrooms and investment reports, offering direct insight into the realities, challenges, and opportunities of microfinance and impact investing.

Next destination: Senegal, April 7-11, 2025
Building on insights from the pilot experience, our next Learning Journey will take place in Senegal from April 7 to 11, 2025. This five-day program is tailored for institutional investors, financial service providers, private funders, and development finance professionals seeking a deeper understanding of financial inclusion ecosystems.

What to expect?

  • Field visits to micro-entrepreneurs and financial institutions to witness the impact of inclusive finance
  • In-depth discussions with industry leaders, and innovators shaping the sector
  • Exploration of financial innovation, from digital banking solutions to rural microfinance initiatives
  • A unique networking opportunity to connect with like-minded professionals in the field

The Learning Journey provides a hands-on learning experience for professionals eager to understand financial inclusion in practice. By meeting entrepreneurs and engaging with key players in the ecosystem, participants gain practical insights into local financial dynamics and the strategies that drive sustainable growth. This immersive approach encourages meaningful exchanges and collaboration among industry leaders.

Through the Learning Journey, we aim to create meaningful experiences that bridge the gap between finance and impact,” said Bezant Chongo, Head of Capacity Building at Symbiotics. “By engaging directly with entrepreneurs and local stakeholders, participants develop a richer perspective on how financial services can empower communities.
