The Health Innovation Exchange (HIEx) has signed a partnership with Symbiotics to launch a pioneering impact investing platform at the intersection of climate change and public health.
The platform will include an open-ended investment fund with a target capacity of up to USD 500 million over the next ten years, complemented by a dedicated Technical Assistance (TA) facility providing catalytic grant support equivalent to 5% of the fund’s capital. Designed to help de-risk investments and foster a strong ecosystem, the TA facility will support portfolio companies, incubate new models, and connect entrepreneurs, corporations, investors, and public sector actors.
This joint initiative aims to accelerate the growth of both early-stage innovations and proven models that address climate-related health challenges, particularly in the most vulnerable regions.

Climate change is increasingly recognized as one of the most significant threats to public health, particularly in low- and middle-income countries. Its impact includes more frequent and intense heatwaves, extreme weather events, surges in infectious disease outbreaks, and widespread economic disruption. By supporting climate-smart health innovations, the new investment fund and technical assistance facility aim to create lasting, second-order impacts on vulnerable populations, including women, children, ethnic minorities, the elderly, and other at-risk groups.
