Symbiotics is committed to apply its mission and values to its own corporate organization and lifestyle. This is reflected in our commitments to various industry initiatives as well as through our corporate giving and support.
OUR CORPORATE SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY (CSR) INITIATIVES
B CORP CERTIFICATION
Symbiotics first became a Certified B Corporation in 2021 and successfully completed the recertification process in 2025, reaffirming its commitment to meeting high social and environmental standards as part of a global movement of businesses driving positive change.
Through its legal statutes, Symbiotics has formally embedded its commitment to a purpose beyond financial profit. The results of the comprehensive B Lab assessment serve as a benchmark for continuous improvement, guiding the company in identifying areas for further progress and taking concrete action in the years to come.
The B Corp Certification evaluates all aspects of a business and covers five key impact areas: Governance, Workers, Community, Environment, and Customers. As impact investing continues to gain attention, Symbiotics’ B Corp Certification highlights the sector’s growing focus on accountability and transparency.
Race to Zero
SME Climate Hub
The SME Climate Hub is a global initiative that empowers SMEs to take climate action through the United Nations Race to Zero campaign. We have signed up through the SME Climate Hub committing to achieving a net-zero carbon goal by 2050 and reporting on our carbon footprint progress yearly.
In partnership with Climate Services, we are assessing annually our corporate carbon footprint worldwide to offset our emissions and implement measures to achieve the climate objectives. To compensate our 2021 emissions, we are collaborating with ON A MISSION which are planting 2,823 trees in reforestation projects in Kenya, Madagascar, Colombia, Zambia, Ivory Coast, and the Republic of Congo, all countries in which Symbiotics is also investing.
At Symbiotics, we care about the environment and are committed to become a more environmentally sustainable company by implementing measures to reduce our footprint and achieve our sustainability goals.
Cuernavaca
The French association Un Toit pour les Enfants de Cuernavaca (A Roof for Children of Cuernavaca) helps about 60 underprivileged children and 20 teenagers in Cuernavaca, Mexico. We partnered with the Association and launched a staff crowdfunding campaign in 2022 to support the construction of an Ecological Mini Farm in Cuernavaca benefitting the 80 children enrolled in the local school “El Centro Comunitario Infantil Encuentro (CCIE). Symbiotics matched the staff donations to contribute to this pedagogical project.
Terre des Hommes
Terre des Hommes aims to improve the living conditions of vulnerable children and young people through an approach combining access to education, protection, and participation. Symbiotics has supported multiple initiatives, including the Corporate Walk of Hope organized by Terre des Hommes Switzerland, and funding a project in India to raise awareness about a healthy and sustainable environment among children. We also collaborated with Terre des Hommes Italy to produce Christmas cards and made a donation supporting emergency projects in Syria.
Paint a Smile
The mission of the Swiss-based NGO Paint A Smile is to reduce anxiety and de-dramatize hospital stays by transforming the cold and impersonal hospital environment into a more colorful and welcoming space. Several Symbiotics staff participated in the Course de L’Escalade in Geneva and thus supported the Paint A Smile projects.
Used computer material
To give used computer material a second life, we donated used laptops to BWEF (Burkina Women Education Fund) which were distributed among their beneficiaries, impoverished female Burkinabe university students, in Burkina Faso. Also, UnitedForU and StrongerTogether, two Ukrainian organizations in Switzerland, are receiving used laptops, PCs and screens for their members, Ukrainian refugees.
Throughout the year, we remain open to identifying new opportunities to donate used computer equipment to organizations and individuals in need.
