In late January, Symbiotics celebrated its 10 years of business with the company’s entire staff, nearly 85 people to date, and its main stakeholders in Geneva. This provided an opportunity for the founders to share how the company got started as well as its main highlights, obstacles and achievements throughout the years.
In addition, several knowledge-sharing talks were given throughout the day to provide an update on the industry as well as to discuss new investment themes such as private and listed equity in Africa and impact bonds The day finished with a lively inspirational speech given by one of the guest speakers: Mr. H P Singh, CEO of the Indian microfinance institution,
Satin Creditcare, where he shared the trajectory of his business as well as his future insights of the industry. A separate session focused on “beyond microfinance” with external speakers focusing on investments themes such as SME finance, energy, housing or agriculture.
